Meet the HDJ-S7 professional on-ear DJ headphones – Outstanding audio quality, superior durability and improved functionality for professional DJs.
Following the launch of our HDJ-X10, HDJ-X7 and HDJ-X5 professional over-ear DJ headphone models in autumn 2017, we’re releasing the HDJ-S7 professional on-ear DJ headphones. The new model offers outstanding audio quality, superior durability and improved functionality for comfortable DJing.
The HDJ-S7 headphones are the world’s first on-ear DJ headphones to feature 40-mm HD drivers. This ensures the clear sound separation needed for monitoring during mixes, from rich and powerful bass to clear mid-to-high frequencies. Designed and built to be highly robust, they’ve cleared the US Military Standard MIL-STD-810G Shock test, as well as our stringent in-house durability tests.
The new model features a swivel mechanism, a flexible headband and a smaller on-ear can, which is preferred by some DJs – so you can comfortably use the HDJ-S7 for every style of DJ monitoring.
The HDJ-S7 headphones will be available from May 2018.

They look good
So… I received my Pioneer HDJ-S7 and my initial experience is a kind of mixed bag with more negatives than actual positives…
I will give a little bit more time to pay around with the headphones… but there were 2 things that spotted immediately:
1) the comfort and fit is horrible… It feels loose on my head and 1 ear monitoring is not really an option. Not like a Sennheiser HD 25… Also the hard headband is keep pushing top of my head and thin ear cups do the same as well… this happens after few mins use.
2) It sounds weird… :S Has this kind of heavily pushed mid-bass sound… which can be a good thing because you can always hear the kick drum… but sounds quite "slushy" and hard edged. Something like the AIAIAI TMA-1, but less warmth. Maybe it requires some burn-in as my X10 did… But i still find ridiculous advertising these as a "High Definition", "5kHz to 40kHz" frequency range headphones… 🙁
Putting back the V-Moda M100 after the S7 is almost a night and day difference! Much more better comfort (with XL pads) and more pleasant, less unnecessarily aggressive tone in sound. In the S7 almost all the track sounded the same, while in the M100 i could hear the slight differences, so could to a better EQ-ing. But the V-Moda is still not a too accurate one for – let's say – sound editing… I would rather use a HD 25 for those purposes or other real studio headphones.
The only thing i like about the S7 is the very pronounced "bass kick" which makes beat matching a bit easier… There were a few tracks where it was a bit hard to hear the beats on the V-moda, but with the S7 i could easily track them… But this is a two blade sword due to the weird sound signature. So you could probably hear the beats, but all the other frequencies don't seem that clear unfortunately. Maybe after a long burn-in the sound might change… but honestly i don't have much belief in that…
In summarise, if you really want a good on-ear headphone – it seems – the Sennheiser HD 25 is still the one and only choice. This is kind of funny no other company is able to make a decent on-ear for 30 years…
This announcement is a surprise I didn't even know that Pioneer will release a new on-ear style headphone… Anyway I am not a big fun of this S7's design… but due to comfort issues i more prefer a lighter on-ear headphone regardless its actual look.
I owned a new Pioneer HDJ-X10 for a couple of weeks and – although loved the sound (was quite "coloured" TBH) – it was soooo uncomfortable after like 10-15 mins… Either the headband was pressing my head or the ear cups my large ears… sometimes both in the same time! …and the X10 wasn't even "breathable". Got sweaty ears in normal room temperature, so in a club environment could be a real physical pain wearing them. Unless you take them off after every mixing.
Now I decided to get a Pioneer S7, so will give my thoughts comparing to a HDJ-X10, V-MODA M-100 and Sennheiser HD 25. So all the popular DJ headphones will be covered. 🙂
Better than the V-MODA M-100?
Is it Regal, playing in the movie ?
I'll stick with my Sennheisers
I have HDj1500 for 3 years and still sounds perfect…I will probably try HDJ-S7
I had problems connecting my ddj sb2 what drivers work?

You should make these just for looks since millenial djs don't even use them except for decoration!
I wonder. How much will those beauties be? $$
You guys are wayyyy better than Beats. Still using my HDJ gold edition from 4 years ago
